Book Wishlist: Delia's Kitchen Garden

May 29, 2012 by

I can’t garden. It’s as simple as that.

You can’t be good at everything, and gardening is just one of those things that I can’t seem to get. I struggle with activities that appear simple, like gardening and cleaning, but am usually able to master more difficult things first try.

Delia's Kitchen Garden: A Beginners' Guide to Growing and Cooking Fruit and VegetablesConsequently I have a lot of kitchen gardening books on my wishlist. I like ones that marry two of my favourite things, cooking and gardening, especially when it comes thrown in with a little bit of celebrity chef. (And I mean ACTUAL celebrity chefs, not former MasterChef winners/losers.)

The latest book to be added to my wishlist is Delia’s Kitchen Garden.

It states that it’s a beginners guide, so that’s always a positive start for me. Not only does this book follow a year in the life of Delia’s new kitchen garden, but it also has 56 recipes using the produce she has grown. Although it is UK based, you can still pick up a lot of tips and the recipes look amazing. Some of the ingredients are not common in Australia but most are readily available and the more obscure ones can sometimes be found at local markets or gourmet producers.

Yet another book in a very looooong wishlist. This year for Christmas I have asked Tim just to buy out my entire wishlist, so I better get adding…..
